This ED sees about 64,000 patients annually - approximately 175 patients in 24 hours. As a Level II trauma center, the unit staff are supported by the trauma, medical, and neurosurgery services. The staff receives training and education in the management of the unstable patient, modes of pharmacological treatment, utilizing mechanical ventilation, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, intracranial pressure monitoring, and other modalities.
