Independently provides pre-hospital emergency medical care and emergency ambulance services at the advanced life support level as authorized by base station physician or approved standing orders; and performs other related duties as required.

Must be available for shift and weekend work. Also must be available to work at all locations on Oahu. Position may require use of safety and protective equipment due to possible exposure to hazardous and obnoxious conditions.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and satisfactory completion of Board approved Mobile Intensive Care Technician (Advanced Life Support) training and internship program. Verification Requirement: You must submit evidence of your education within 7 days of filing this application. License Requirement: 1) Current State of Hawaii Board of Medical Examiners Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Certificate (EMT-P), prior to appointment. Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and satisfactory driving history. CHARACTER & BACKGROUND: Emergency Medical Technicians must possess sound moral character, integrity, and credibility in addition to the ability to provide emergency medical services. They must have the ability to make sound judgments in emergency situations. Each candidate's character and background and driving record will be thoroughly reviewed to determine suitability for employment.
