ABOUT THE POSITION

MAKE A DIFFERENCE AS A COUNTY SERVICES WORKER!
The County of Marin has an immediate need for those who are interested in being on the front lines of serving the community during this COVID-19 pandemic. The County is seeking County Services Workers (CSWs) to serve in a variety of assignments as the County’s Emergency Response continues. The work of CSWs is integral to ensuring that Marin County residents are able to access the care and resources needed to navigate current circumstances, and to provide vital services to our communities.

Bilingual Assignments Available: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English may be required for some assignments. Successful candidates in bilingual assignments must demonstrate proficiency in both Spanish and English. A bilingual proficiency exam will be administered to ensure the candidate possesses the appropriate skill level to meet the requirements.

Public Contact Assignments: Some CSW assignments may interface directly with the public. In these cases, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) will be provided. COVID-19 testing appointments will be available for CSWs who work in public contact positions.

POTENTIAL ASSIGNMENTS:
Duties vary depending on the nature of the assignment, and additional assignments may arise. Assignments may be in the field, in your own home, or a combination of the two. Assignments may be part-time or full-time. Below is a short description of some of these potential assignments:

Runners and Transportation: Ensure the prompt, safe and secure transport of food and non-food items such as test specimens.  Successful candidates in this assignment may use their own vehicles, should have a clean Motor Vehicle Record, and must carry automobile liability insurance in the amount of no less than $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability coverage and $50,000 property damage coverage.

General Office Administrative Work: Provide general office support including receiving visitors and telephone calls and referring visitors and callers to appropriate staff; filing documents; assembling reports, packets and other documents; maintaining control records and logs; and scheduling appointments. Successful candidates in these assignments should have proficiency using computers/technology.

Call Center Staff: Call Center staff work remotely and respond to questions from community members, healthcare providers and businesses via phone or email. This assignment also includes data entry and maintaining call/email logs. CSWs in this assignment use online phone software and must have WiFi access.

Registration Assistants at the County’s Field Testing sites: Assist the county's community testing sites by collecting basic demographic information from persons coming in for COVID-19 testing, assisting in line/crowd control, and helping complete lab paperwork. This work will be done out of doors and successful candidates must be able to stand for periods of time. Work will be done using County provided tablets so candidates must have proficiency using technology.

Registration and Site Assistants at the County’s Motel Sites:  These sites house vulnerable people in need of safe housing and food during this crisis. Responsibilities in these assignments include: checking in with on-site security staff to review and maintain daily logs; distributing food to residents; registering new residents; and acclimating new residents to the motel site.

The level of the position (CSW I or CSW II) will depend upon the complexity or requirements of the assignment.
