Position Description



Tacoma Power is accepting applications for Seasonal labor workers at the Cushman Project located in Shelton, WA. 

This is labor intensive work, cleaning bathrooms, hauling garbage, painting, and grounds maintenance including mowing and weed eating.  We rely on our staff to keep our grounds clean and well-maintained, and to create a friendly atmosphere for our guests.




 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Some experience performing grounds maintenance, mowing and weed eating, or similar manual labor;
  • Completion of the eighth grade.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Valid Driver's License

Appointment will be subject to passing a background check and a pre-employment medical exam and drug screen. This position is covered by a Labor Agreement between the City of Tacoma and Teamsters Local 117.

Other Employment Information

Direct Deposit: Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule by direct deposit.

Salary Increases: Based on satisfactory job performance, the City provides for a regular progression of salary increases for most classifications according to the salary schedule.

Union Affiliation: Many job classifications are covered by union security provisions which require union membership, dues, or payment of equivalent service fees.
